November 13th  2020 Fishing Report

We did a tag team trip shared with The Raybert. Five clients on each boat. There was BIG competition between the two boats. Who got the most, who got the biggest. Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters had early limits of rock fish including nice coppers and browns. They were done early and opted to pull crab pots. Two pots yield fifty crab. November 12th  2020 Fishing Report

First we pulled crab pots. We pulled seven pots to get crew limits of Dungeness crab – eighty crab. Then we fished north of Santa Cruz where the clients caught limits of a variety quality rock fish including vermillion, browns and this kelp green ling. They landed three nice ling cod. October 31st  2020 Fishing Report

We fished north of Davenport today. The bite continues to be HOT! The first drift yielded 33 rock fish. The clients caught limits of quality rock fish including big vermillion, nice browns and coppers. Sheree from Santa Cruz caught this 22 inch vermillion. As a side note Dungeness crab season opens November 7th. We will be dropping baited pots that day and running combos trips after then. The calendar is filling up. We started fishing at Davenport where the bit was slow. We then moved down to fish at the pumpkin patch. Still slow. JT moved the boat closer to Natural Bridges where the bite was on. We tried to fish for halibut today but there was an abundance of king fish and mackerel that took the bait before we could get to the halibut.  We decided to move to the westside of Santa Cruz where the clients caught quick limits of a variety of rock fish. We had a fun trip today. It was a party of 12 so we ran tandem with six on the Miss Beth and six on the Raybert. We left at the same time and headed to Davenport. We fished within a football field of each other. There was fierce compensation – who caught the first fish, who caught the biggest, who limited first.  The clients caught limits of a variety of rock fish. Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters fished locally this afternoon. The bite was slow, the weather was beautiful so Captain JT headed north to Davenport. The clients caught limits od rock fish including vermillion, blues, blacks, coppers, browns, olives and canaries. The ling cod were on the bite. They used shrimp flies with squid for bait. After getting the green light last week we were more than happy to get clients out on the water to catch fish, get some fresh air, some exercise and some sanity in this crazy times. February 22 Fishing Report 2020

We are excited and looking forward to the 2020 Salmon and Rock Fish season. Last year salmon season was the best here in the past 20 some years. We hope the same for 2020 which opens in April. Captain Greg or Captain JT will be at the helm. An JP who you all know and love will be your deckhand. Our boat is a 30′ Island Hopper which accommodates six clients comfortably. The Miss Beth is sporting a new low emissions, clean burning Cummins engine with 425 horsepower and cruises comfortably at 25 knots. January 18th Fishing Report 2020

Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters took the clients crabbin and dabbin today. First they pulled eight crab pots to get limits of big Dungeness crab – sixty of them. Then Captain JT took them to fish near Pajaro in 200 feet of water to some delicious Sand Dabs. Some of the sand dabs were big. The crew called them slap dabs. Call to book  your trip.

January 5th Fishing Report 2020

Go Fish Santa Cruz Charters took clients to fish for sand dabs. They caught buckets of these yummy fish in 250′ of water south of Monterey. Captain Greg, cooked some  up for his family tonight. Fred Flintsone says ‘Yaba Daba Doo’ Today out clients said ‘Yaba Daba Daba Daba Daba Doo’ 200 times. 200 Sand Dabs. Then they said ‘Craba Craba Craba’ 40 times for crew limits of Dungeness crab.
